    3 Nights Camel Trek
    Tour Details

The Morocco 3 Nights Camel Trek in the Merzouga desert gives you the rare chance to live in the Sahara like the nomads themselves. Over three unforgettable days you cross the dunes and desert plains of Erg Chebbi on foot and by camel, visit Berber and Bedouin families, and camp under the stars each night with traditional meals and music.

This is the most immersive desert experience we offer. With three nights in the sand you leave every trace of the modern world behind, moving from camp to camp through a landscape of towering dunes, hidden oases and vast silent plains. Each day brings new scenery and encounters, and each night a different bivouac under an ocean of stars.

The 3 Nights Camel Trek is private and led by seasoned Berber guides who know the desert intimately, with camps and pace tailored to your group. It runs year-round, though spring and autumn offer the most comfortable temperatures for long days of trekking.

Day 1 – Merzouga to the first camp: You meet your guide and camel caravan in Merzouga and set off into Erg Chebbi, alternating riding and walking. After a lunch stop you continue to your first bivouac deep in the dunes, enjoying sunset, dinner and Berber music under the stars.

Day 2 – Across the great dunes: A full day of trekking through the highest dunes and quiet sand valleys, meeting nomad families and pausing at viewpoints. Lunch and rest in the shade, then a second camp and another glorious sunset.

    FAQ
    Morocco 3 Nights Camel Trek

Who is the 3 Nights Camel Trek best suited to?

Travellers who want the deepest possible Sahara immersion and enjoy walking. Three nights let you reach remote dunes and oases that day and overnight trips never see.

How many hours a day do we trek?

Several hours of walking and riding each day, split into stages with long midday breaks to avoid the heat. The pace is steady rather than strenuous.

What level of fitness do I need?

A good general level of fitness is recommended because of the daily walking, but no technical experience is needed and the guide adapts the pace.

Where do we sleep each night?

In a different desert camp each night, with comfortable Berber tents, beds and blankets, well away from the busier areas near the village.

    Are meals and water provided?

Yes, all meals — breakfasts, lunches and dinners — plus mint tea are included. We carry enough water for the trek; let us know of any dietary needs.

What should I pack for three nights?

A backpack with warm layers, sun protection, scarf, sturdy shoes, wet wipes, a torch and any personal medication. Your main luggage stays safely in Merzouga.

Can this be combined with a wider Morocco tour?

Yes, the trek pairs well with tours from Marrakech or Fes and with transfers to your next destination.
