    Departure from Merzouga: Your driver-guide collects you from your accommodation and you set off by 4×4 along the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

    Khamlia – Gnaoua music: You stop in the village of Khamlia, home to a community of Saharan origin, to hear a short performance of hypnotic Gnaoua music over mint tea.

    Nomad families & oases: The route visits nomad tents on the desert fringe, where you learn about daily life, and passes palm oases such as Hassi Labied.

    Dayet Srji lake & the mines: You stop at the seasonal Dayet Srji lake (home to flamingos in spring) and the old kohl and lead mines, with viewpoints over the dunes along the way.

    Return: After your final photo stops you return to Merzouga. On the full-day option a lunch stop and extra viewpoints are included.
